Guess Who's Back!?

I am very excited to be returning to Brechin Public School as the Teacher Librarian for a second year! This is an amazing school to be apart of and I cannot wait to get started. We have a lot of exciting things happening in our Library this Fall to help raise money to support our students and their love of reading!

Our fall scholastic book fair will start on Meet the Teacher night on September 26 and end Oct 3. There will be a debit machine again this year and lots of great book choices! Be sure to come out on Sept 26 to take a look or send your child with money to purchase during their Media class. Books range from $2.50 - $30!

Our second fundraiser is the Indigo Adopt a School program happening September 15th - Oct 7th.

There are three ways that our community can support our school online at adoptaschool.indigo.ca:

1.       Book Bonus: For every two books you donate to our school online, the Love of Reading Foundation will donate a bonus book, up to 100 books!*

2.       Tell a Story, Give a Story: Every time you post a story to our Adopt a School profile, the Love of Reading Foundation will donate one book in support of our school library, up to 20 books!

3.       Adopt a School Story Contest: “Heart” your favourite story to help a school for a chance to win* big!  The five most-loved stories in each province will be entered in a random draw for a chance to win a $2,500 Indigo eGiftcard to purchase books for their adopted school. The remaining four top “hearted” schools in each province will win a $500 Indigo eGiftcard to purchase books! Choose wisely because you only get one shot to “Heart” a story!

Please note that 100% of all online donations directed to our school will go towards supporting our students and school library! However, our school has not been adopted by an Indigo, Chapters or Coles store this year, so donations made in-store will not go to our school.

Our school is going to receive every dollar raised to support our library and a 30% discount off books when we shop at Indigo, Chapters and Coles using program donations.

Through the Adopt a School program and Scholastic Book Fair, we are hoping raise enough money to put one new book in the hands of each and every one of our students!
